I have decided to start a Build a City Challenge, In the Sims 2. I will be following these rules mostly but will be using some mods. These include ACR. A mod to do with banking, will start with a plant and when there is electricity, will be done using a computer and I won’t be deleting townies. Also, using Mortgage Shrubs, so sims can get a house and pay it off afterwards.

I have some changes to the rules. When the sim that unlocks the gamer career maxes it, then it is unlocked for everyone. Also, Sims with an arts degree can join the arts career, if no degree they will still have to paint 5 masterpieces

Also, Sims can sell stuff they haven’t crafted in their businesses, but is must be related to their businesses. For example, clothing stores can sell clothes and jewellery they haven’t made but not paintings, foods or technology.

University rules– Must have at least an A in school. There will be a placeholder sim who will live on Campus and will be the dean collecting funds to make the University. The mayor will start the funds with 500, 000 Simolens. The campus will start with Dorms, and a Student Union/Library. All Tuition fees go towards this. Fees are as followed. 5000 per year which will be paid at the start of Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior years so 20, 000 in total. The scholarships can be used to pay part and there are some discounts. Poverty class get a discount of 4000 a year, Lower Class- 2500 and Middle Class 1300. Upper Class don’t receive a discount. Uni is unlocked when the Sim in the Education Career maxes it, but Mayor needs to spend 500, 00 to start building.

Net Worth

Poverty Class- below 25,000

Lower Class- 25,000- 49,000

Middle Class- 50,000- 99,000

Upper Class-over 100,000

Other Rules

With large Bonuses, 40,000 or more, 30,000 must be paid in taxes.

Businesses- If sold, the family must pay 30 percent of the sale price.

Inheritance tax- 10 percent

The Business District is unlocked when the population is at 25,000. The main hood needs at least five community lots.

I use custom ageing and Sims become elders at 80. The ages are: Babies- 2 Days, Toddlers- 6, Children and teens- 12 and Adults 48.

Sims can send money to top up town funds if they want too. I normally do this with Sims that have too much money.

Cars are unlocked once electricity is and once there is at least 1 ranked 10 player owned business.

From Round 7, taxes will be 10 percent of their net worth. Adding Business and home income together, and retired Sims will pay 5 percent if they have no adults in the household. Also, taxes will always be managed by the Whitestone Family.

SM Multiplier

+1 when you reach a total of 5 community lots
+1 for every additional 5 community lots
+5 for your Business District
+5 for your Downtown District
+5 for your University
